New materials, new challenges! 💪 I created this piece with the intent to really push my craftsmanship and experiment with surfaces I'd never touched before.
• The Foundation: This started with an 11 x 14 birch wood panel. I built up the base with a layer of wallpaper, followed by two transparent holographic sheets. I was SO excited to see how this iridescent foundation would interact with the paint.
• The Drawing Phase: Working with black and white Posca markers, I painted directly onto the smooth, non-porous surface. It was a unique feeling—the paint sat on top like drawing on a sheet of glass! I had to be careful, but the markers performed beautifully, allowing me to lay down super crisp, clean lines with ease.
• The Finish: The final step was giving it that intense, mirror-like finish! I coated the entire piece in a protective, glass-looking art resin to seal the work and give it that high-gloss pop.
